Job Description:

As a Senior UX/UI Designer, within the IT Engineering department, you’ll be involved in the full life-cycle of design for a portfolio of internal custom applications used across a diverse line of business, such as sales, marketing, customer success, human resources, recruiting, and products, to run our $2B+ and growing business. You’ll partner with product managers and engineers to deliver great experiences, as well as compelling user interfaces to both external and internal users, enabling them through phenomenal user experiences.

We’re looking for thinkers and innovators who are willing to challenge the status quo and are energized by developing creative solutions to complex problems. In addition, great oral communication and written documentation skills are valuable for this role in promoting ideas throughout the company.

Work closely with product managers and engineering teams, to deliver best-in-class user experiences and compelling visual designs for a diverse portfolio of internal and external applications
Perform usability studies to challenge established thinking and discover new ways of solving problems
Develop user workflow diagrams, storyboards, prototypes, and wireframes
Develop compelling visual designs for products that excite end-users and create brand awareness
Present designs and effectively communicate design rationale to diverse stakeholders
Partner with teams to define product roadmaps and prioritize requirements for releases
Create detailed design specifications and design standards for enterprise IT applications
Drive design in accord with principles of user-centered design
Ensure projects fulfill business requirements, goals, and delight end-users

Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!

7+ years of combined experience in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design
5+ years of experience designing for single-page web applications
5+ year of experience designing for mobile applications
Expertise in the capabilities of CSS and Javascript
Experience working on cross-browser, multi-device applications.
Expertise in data visualization and information architecture
Expertise in using industry-standard design and prototyping tools, such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe CC
Expertise creating prototypes to communicate design concepts to users and project partners
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience in a fast-paced, iterative development environment

Preferred knowledge and experience: These are a huge plus.

Experience delivering in an Agile environment
Experience directing creative across multiple designers a strong plus

Education: Got it!

BS or MS in Visual Design or equivalent experience required

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $147,200.00 - 202,400.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $132,000.00 - 181,500.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $124,000.00 - 170,500.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
