What believers are saying

  • Fiscal 2026 sales rose 23% to $890.1 million, with non-GAAP EPS doubling.
  • Q4 2026 data-center sales hit record 14% of revenue, expanding beyond autos.
  • Management guided Q1 FY2027 revenue to $245 million-$255 million after five growth quarters.

What critics are saying

  • Automotive suppliers drove 70.6% of fiscal 2026 sales, tying Allegro to OEM cycles.
  • Top 20 customers generated about half of sales, so one design loss hurts fast.
  • Sanken still held 32.2% in March 2026; another block sale can crush shares.

What makes Allegro MicroSystems unique

  • Allegro's July 2026 A81415 packs ASIL-D brake control and wheel-speed sensing into one chip.
  • Fiscal 2026 data-center sales quadrupled, reaching 10% of revenue and 14% in Q4.
  • Allegro ships 2.1 billion units yearly across 15,000 customers, deepening automotive design wins.

Digital angle sensors with auto-calibration: A new era in motor control.

Digital angle sensors with auto-calibration: A new era in motor control. September 29, 2026. Infineon's revolutionary hall-effect sensors. Infineon introduces a new family of Hall-effect sensors with on-chip auto-calibration, designed for precise rotor position feedback in brushless DC motors. The TLx49012 family offers high accuracy for high-speed motors in automotive and industrial automation applications. Easy installation and flexible mounting. * These sensors feature an automatic system self-calibration function, simplifying system integration. * They eliminate the need for external reference encoders or special calibration routines, reducing manufacturing costs. * Thanks to continuous on-chip balancing mechanisms, sensors can be mounted both on-axis and off-axis, providing design flexibility. Superior performance and broad compatibility. * Crucial for dynamic motor systems, these sensors offer an ultra-low latency of just 1.5 microseconds, minimizing signal delay. * They operate with an angular accuracy of less than 0.1 degrees. * Compatible with standard magnet configurations, supporting magnetic fields between 20 mT and 120 mT. * They support various data transmission protocols like SPI, ABZ, UVW, and PWM, allowing easy integration with existing motor controller architectures. Automotive safety and applications. * The increasing importance of BLDC motors is driven by the growth of robotics and automotive electrification. * Automotive-grade variants, named TLE49012, comply with ISO 26262 functional safety standards and are classified as ASIL B. * This makes them ideal for safety-critical motor control systems in modern vehicle platforms. Competition and technical details. Infineon competes with companies like Melexis, Allegro MicroSystems, and ams OSRAM in this field. The TLx49012 series' 1.5-microsecond latency offers a competitive advantage compared to the ams OSRAM AS5147 series' 1.9-microsecond latency. The ASIL B rating of the TLE49012 variants is sufficient for many auxiliary automotive motor applications such as fluid pumps and HVAC fans. However, for primary safety-critical systems like electronic power steering (EPS) or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) braking, competitors like Allegro MicroSystems offer sensors with higher safety certifications, often achieved through dual-die or redundant sensor configurations, providing native ASIL D compliance.

Merck's strong 21.5% cash flow margin contrasts with Allegro and Viavi's struggles

StockStory analysed three cash-producing stocks, recommending investors avoid two while highlighting one with stronger prospects. Allegro MicroSystems faces end-market challenges, with flat sales over two years and operating margin falling to 2% over five years. The power management chip designer trades at 37.6x forward P/E. Viavi Solutions showed weak performance with 3.4% annual growth over five years, whilst earnings per share remained flat despite revenue growth. The telecommunications testing company trades at 26.2x forward P/E. Merck emerged as the recommended stock, boasting a 21.5% trailing 12-month free cash flow margin. The pharmaceutical company's portfolio includes the blockbuster cancer immunotherapy Keytruda. The analysis emphasises that strong cash flow alone doesn't guarantee superior returns without efficient capital allocation.

Allegro MicroSystems launches first ASIL-D-certified PMIC for electromechanical braking systems

Allegro MicroSystems has launched the A81415, the industry's first ASIL-D-certified power management integrated circuit with an integrated wheel-speed sensor interface. Released on 2 July, the chip is designed for electromechanical braking systems in vehicles. The single-chip solution eliminates up to nine external components and frees over 50% more board space. It reduces latency in safety-critical loops and enables faster braking responses by freeing microcontroller bandwidth. The A81415 consolidates power management and sensor decoding. It supports migration from 12V to 48V braking systems without requiring additional external protection. The device is built for corner module electronics, offering thermal robustness and vibration resistance. It aims to help automotive suppliers develop simpler foundations for next-generation software-defined vehicles.
