Requirements
- A Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- An active Registered Nurse license.
- An active Nurse Practitioner license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- A Drug Enforcement Administration license if prescribing controlled medications.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and ask about their symptoms.
- Diagnose common illnesses and health problems.
- Prescribe medications when needed.
- Order and review lab tests and medical exams.
- Treat minor injuries and illnesses.
- Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
- Provide vaccinations and routine health screenings.
