Role requires travel to customer construction sites across the US.
- BS in Civil Engineer, Construction Management, or other related discipline with 5 years of experience or 10 years of work experience in lieu of degree
- 10+ years construction management in an industrial environment, such an an O&G refinery, chemical plant, power plant, or mine. If they only have commercial experience, it must include 10+ years on multi-unit buildings or very large shopping centers
- Proficient in reading Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams P&IDs as well as blueprints
- Proficient with MS Office suite of tools
- Knowledge of construction technology
- Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) industry experience
- Familiarity with project and department budget process and tools
- Risk assessment/management
- Leadership ability
- Must be able to multitask.
- Effective communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to read, understand, and direct work based on engineering drawings, schematics and construction documents
- Oversees construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and safety
- Ensure the maintenance of a hazard-free work environment and safe operations; Serve as a role model
- Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures
- Ensures that project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices
- Provides technical support to Project Managers
- Performs change order estimating and assists the Project Manager in change order negotiations
- Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals
- Assists in managing and reviewing the progress of contractor's construction schedules.
- Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes
- Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders
- Attend client meetings as needed
- Lead interface with local onsite Customer if/when Project Manager is not present
