Requirements
  • Three years of management experience in a healthcare or service-related setting.
  • Physiological and psychological knowledge related to gerontology.
  • Reliable transportation to perform offsite assessments and evaluations for prospective residents.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, tuberculosis test, and physical examination.
  • Ability to provide 24/7 on-call clinical support.
  • Ability to regularly stand, talk, bend, stretch, pull or push, and lift items.
  • Ability to assist others with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, dining, and exercising.
  • Ability to communicate accurate information with residents, families, and co-workers.
  • Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Implement, deliver, and coordinate resident services at the community.
  • Supervise wellness team members, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints.
  • Coordinate family and resident care conferences with the Executive Director and serve as a liaison among residents, families, and staff.
  • Assess potential residents for Assisted Living or Memory Care level of care using the assessment tool, including assessments in homes or other healthcare settings.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements and mandatory reporting.
  • Ensure incident reports are completed and filed; investigate complaints, grievances, and incidents and coordinate corrective actions with the Executive Director.
  • Ensure staff follow safety regulations for fire protection, infection control, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain medication-administration compliance, oversee medication management and records, and supervise, delegate, train, and conduct competency checks for Medication Aide programs where applicable.
  • Support community marketing through tours and discussions with prospective residents and families about wellness offerings and clinical needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of role-related information.
  • Create positive employee relations through appreciation, recognition, feedback, retention, and promotional incentive programs.
  • Monitor licensure and certification compliance for wellness staff.
  • Provide written and oral reports on Wellness Department operations to the Executive Director and Regional Wellness Director.
  • Coordinate healthcare services with third-party providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on budget, equipment, and supply needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with older adults and individuals with memory loss.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
