About the job
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or Technical Product Owner in e-commerce, fintech, or payments.
- Strong knowledge of online payment flows, including authorization, capture, refunds, chargebacks, tokenization, recurring or stored payments, and the roles of payment service providers, acquirers, card schemes, and digital wallets.
- Practical experience with payment service provider integrations and confidence reading REST API documentation, webhook specifications, and sequence diagrams.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards, particularly PSD2/SCA, 3DS2, and PCI DSS, and their effects on checkout architectures.
- Demonstrated experience writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications in agile teams using Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to structure complex, cross-system topics and translate them into clear, targeted discussions for technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work pragmatically and hands-on, take initiative in unclear edge cases, and deliver solution-oriented results in dynamic environments.
- Business-fluent English, spoken and written, for moderating technical discussions, reaching stakeholder consensus, and managing payment service provider relationships.
- Own the requirements phase for new payment service provider and payment-method integrations, from the initial tenant request through clear, testable specifications.
- Analyze payment service provider API documentation, payment flows, and webhook behavior, and map them to the SCAYLE checkout and order lifecycle, including authorization, capture, refunds, cancellations, partial settlements, and status transitions.
- Create and maintain functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira and Confluence, proactively accounting for failed captures, delayed webhooks, mixed carts, and partial deliveries.
- Model payment state machines and status mappings between payment service providers and SCAYLE, including pending versus paid and instant capture versus capture on shipment, and document binding system rules.
- Evaluate regulatory requirements and card-scheme requirements, including PSD2/SCA, 3DS2, PCI DSS scope, tokenization, and stored cards, and translate them into concrete product requirements.
- Work closely with development during implementation to clarify requirements, review test cases, analyze defects using API documentation and logs, and validate delivered behavior against the specification.
- Act as the central interface between the Payments team, technical and commercial payment service provider contacts, and internal business stakeholders; explain complex payment flows and drive open questions to decisions.
- Conduct structured ad hoc analyses and solve acute live-payment incidents while maintaining full system transparency under pressure.
