Influential Women profiles Mattie Maready: software engineer and Assistant Vice President at Deutsche Bank. NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 21, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / - Advancing Technology and AI in Financial Services While Championing Women in Technology, Continuous Learning, and Community Impact Mattie Maready is a software engineer and Assistant Vice President at Deutsche Bank in the Raleigh and Cary, North Carolina area, where she contributes to technology and artificial intelligence initiatives within the financial services industry. Recently promoted into her AVP role, Maready brings nearly eight years of engineering-focused experience, combining technical problem-solving, collaboration, project coordination, and a commitment to continuous improvement. In her current position, Maready works in a fast-paced technology environment where organization and communication are essential to successful project execution. Her responsibilities include managing sprint deliverables, refining development backlogs, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and helping ensure projects are properly organized and prepared for execution. She is particularly interested in the expanding role of artificial intelligence within financial technology, including emerging areas such as prompt engineering, generative AI, and agentic AI systems. Maready's career reflects a steady progression built on education, hands-on experience, professional development, and a willingness to continue learning. She began her professional journey in 2018 after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her time at the university provided her with a strong technical foundation while also giving her opportunities to develop communication and teamwork skills through involvement in organizations including Sigma Sigma Sigma, Kappa Kappa Psi, and the university marching band. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Maready worked as an associate at Infosys, where she expanded her experience in enterprise technology and software engineering. Earlier in her career, she worked as a laboratory assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gene Therapy Center. Her laboratory experience provided exposure to research and experimental activities while strengthening the analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving abilities that would later become valuable throughout her technology career. Maready views her recent promotion to Assistant Vice President and Senior Engineer as an important milestone in a career she has intentionally built through hard work and dedication. She attributes her success to the combination of her professional journey and the strong educational foundation she developed through computer science. She is also committed to ongoing professional development. Through Women in Technology organizations and certifications, including Google AI programs, Maready continues to expand her technical knowledge while developing her leadership capabilities. Her involvement in her company's Women in Technology chapter has been particularly meaningful. She has been selected multiple times to represent the organization at women-in-tech conferences, providing opportunities to learn from other professionals while contributing to broader conversations about women and technology. For Maready, the best career advice she has received is that it is possible to build a successful career in a field that someone genuinely loves and advance through hard work, consistency, and dedication. That philosophy has remained a consistent source of motivation throughout her professional journey. Rather than viewing career advancement as a destination, Maready approaches it as an ongoing process of learning and improvement. She continues to challenge herself professionally, explore emerging technologies, and seek opportunities that allow her to expand both her technical expertise and leadership experience. Her message to young women considering careers in technology is equally straightforward: believe in your abilities and do not allow the technical nature of the industry to intimidate you. Maready believes technology offers tremendous opportunities for growth, creativity, and innovation, and she emphasizes that there is space for women to succeed, lead, and make meaningful contributions. As someone relatively new to her AVP position, Maready views her current chapter as an opportunity to continue learning, growing, and expanding her leadership experience. She is excited about the direction of her career and the potential to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives while continuing to advance within an industry undergoing significant transformation. Artificial intelligence represents one of the areas she is particularly interested in exploring. As generative AI, prompt engineering, and agentic AI continue to influence technology and financial services, Maready is focused on developing her understanding of these emerging capabilities and considering how they can contribute to more effective technology solutions. Her professional ambitions are complemented by a strong commitment to community. Giving back is one of the values most important to Maready. After having her first child, she temporarily placed some community activities on hold, but she is now becoming increasingly involved again in outreach and volunteer efforts. She is especially passionate about addressing food insecurity and volunteers with the Eastern North Carolina Food Bank, helping sort and distribute packages to families in need. She also values her involvement with the Red Cross, reflecting her broader belief in contributing to the communities around her. Outside of technology and community service, Maready enjoys reading and baking. Her interest in baking was influenced by her mother, who operated a side business baking and decorating cakes. Maready appreciates the way baking combines creativity with structure and precision - a balance she believes has also influenced her professional approach to problem-solving and innovation. As AI continues to reshape financial technology and create new opportunities throughout the engineering profession, Mattie Maready is focused on growing alongside the technology while remaining committed to the human elements that make innovation successful. Through her work at Deutsche Bank, involvement in Women in Technology initiatives, commitment to professional development, and community service, she continues to build a career defined by learning, leadership, and meaningful impact. Amity University Punjab ranked as Best Emerging B-School in Punjab by Times B-School. ANI 20 Aug 2026, 21:04 GMT+ Mohali (Punjab) [India], August 20: Punjab's management education industry has no shortage of contenders, but few make it onto a national ranking in their category. Amity University Punjab has now done exactly that, recognized as the Best Emerging B-School in Punjab by Times B-School, and ranked #2 as the Best Emerging B-School in the North Zone in the same survey. The recognition reflects a management and commerce education built around an industry-aligned curriculum, experiential learning, international exposure and dedicated placement support, each of which shows up concretely across the university's four programmes. Comprehensive Management Programmes Designed for Future Leaders Amity University Punjab offers four management and commerce programmes, each with a distinct academic focus but sharing a common structure that pairs classroom instruction with practical business exposure. What sets these programmes apart is less about what gets taught in the classroom and more about who the university brings into it. Amity University Punjab holds active collaborations with more than 30 organizations, including L&T EduTech, IBM, Infosys Springboard, ACCA and CSIR, feeding directly into curriculum design, live industry projects and professional certifications. A B.Com (Hons.) student, for instance, can work toward an ACCA-aligned certification alongside the degree rather than treating it as a separate, later step. A dedicated Corporate Resource Centre carries this forward into internships and placement preparation, so the industry connection runs through the whole programme rather than showing up in a single elective. The MBA runs across nine specialization tracks, including Marketing Management, Finance, Human Resource, International Business, Information Technology for Management, Operations, Digital Marketing, Business Analytics and Healthcare Management. This range lets a student move from a shared foundation in leadership and strategic management into a track that lines up closely with the career they are actually chasing, whether that is a core finance role or something more specialized like healthcare management. The BBA lays a foundation in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, human resources and digital business, giving students a broad view of core business functions before they specialize in later semesters, the same specialize-after-foundation approach that runs through the Masters in Business Administration. B.Com (Hons.) B.Com (Hons.) is built around accounting, taxation, finance, auditing and business analytics, preparing students for chartered accountancy, financial analysis and corporate finance roles. It is also the programme behind one of the university's strongest recent student outcomes, detailed later in this piece. Industry Exposure and Experiential Learning Beyond these programme-specific partnerships, the academic calendar includes regular industry visits, corporate guest lectures and case-study based learning, supplemented by workshops and management conclaves that bring academicians, industry leaders and students onto a common platform. Internships remain built into every programme, giving students exposure to workplace processes and team dynamics before graduation. Study Abroad Programme (SAP) One of the university's other distinguishing features is its Study Abroad Programme, or SAP. The programme runs for around five weeks at Amity's international campuses in London, Singapore, Dubai or New York, with coursework delivered by international faculty through classroom sessions, plenary lectures and evening talks, alongside team assignments and report-writing projects. Industry visits give students a first-hand look at how top MNCs operate in that country, and guided tours to well-known universities in the UK and USA add another layer of exposure. Students also get to network with an international peer group, in accommodation the university has vetted for safety. Student Success Kavya Garg, a B.Com (Hons.) student from the 2022-2025 batch, cleared CAT 2024 in her first attempt with a 99.72 percentile, securing admission to IIM Ahmedabad, one of the country's most competitive management institutes and a widely recognized benchmark for postgraduate management education. Her result places her among a small percentage of CAT test-takers nationally, a significant individual achievement for a student from the university's B.Com (Hons.) programme. The university has also recently celebrated the achievement of its former students Jasmeen and Jasleen, from the first batch of B.Tech. Biotechnology (2021). Both have been accepted into the MS Biotechnology programme at Johns Hopkins University, USA, and have also co-authored two research papers in Scopus-indexed, high-impact journals with their faculty mentors. Their achievement highlights how academic mentorship and research-oriented learning can support students in pursuing advanced study opportunities at globally recognised institutions. Career Development and Placement Support Amity University Punjab's career development framework supports students through each stage of their transition to employment, from career guidance, resume building and mock interviews to corporate mentoring and dedicated internship support. Placement preparation and skill-development sessions cover aptitude, communication and domain-specific knowledge at regular intervals. Graduates have gone on to work across banking, consulting, FMCG, retail, IT, finance and analytics, with several choosing to build their own ventures instead of joining an existing organization. Conclusion Amity University Punjab's management and commerce programmes are built on more than a shared classroom structure. Across the MBA, BBA and B.Com (Hons.), students work through a curriculum shaped by real industry partnerships, live projects, internships and a Corporate Resource Centre that carries them through to placement, with SAP adding a genuine international dimension. The Times B-School recognition and Kavya Garg's CAT 2024 result are two different kinds of validation for this approach, one institutional and one individual, but they point in the same direction: an industry-aligned, globally connected business education that does not require leaving Punjab to access it. Share market News: Sensex falls 493 points as Nifty drops for a sixth day while oil tops $91. * Posted byby Rohan Malhotra * August 18, 2026 * 4 min Summary The Sensex fell 492.70 points to close at 77,235.46 and the Nifty 50 lost 132.75 points to end at 24,154.90 on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, as elevated crude prices and rising West Asia tensions weighed on sentiment. Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Auto outperformed while Nifty IT and Nifty Realty fell the sharpest, with Tata Motors PV, Asian Paints, Wipro, HCL Tech and Infosys each losing more than 2%. Infosys extended its slide to five sessions with a total drop of more than 6%, while Indo-MIM hit the 10% upper circuit at ₹952.75 after profit grew 31.6% to ₹240 crore. Tempsens Instruments' ₹650 crore IPO opens on August 20 with a grey market premium of 56%, and Brent crude rose 0.68% to $91.49 on reports of a more offensive Iranian stance. The 30 share BSE Sensex fell 492.70 points, or 0.63%, to settle at 77,235.46, extending its losing streak to a third straight session. The Nifty 50 fared worse on the streak count, ending lower for a sixth consecutive session as it lost 132.75 points, or 0.55%, to close at 24,154.90. The broader market was mixed. The Nifty MidCap 100 fell 0.43%, while the Nifty SmallCap settled flat, holding up better than both the benchmarks and the midcap space. Impact on the stock market. Sectoral gainers: Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Auto outperformed on the day, providing the only real cushion in an otherwise weak session. Sectoral losers: Nifty IT and Nifty Realty witnessed the sharpest declines. The IT index fell for a third consecutive session and was down nearly 2% on August 18, which explains why Wipro, HCL Tech and Infosys all sat among the top Nifty losers. Market aftermath: Impact on stocks. Tempsens Instruments IPO: A 56% grey market premium ahead of launch. The grey market premium for Tempsens Instruments surged to 56% ahead of the issue opening on Thursday, according to platforms tracking grey market activity. Investorgain quoted a premium of ₹168 per share, indicating a potential listing gain of 56%, while IPO Watch quoted 51.33%. The temperature sensing and heating solutions provider will launch its ₹650 crore initial public offering on August 20, with the issue closing on August 24 and anchor investor bidding scheduled for August 19. The price band has been fixed at ₹285 to ₹300 per share. The company plans to use the proceeds for capital expenditure in its electrical heating solutions and specialised cable solutions businesses, debt repayment and general corporate purposes. A word of caution: grey market premiums signal demand but are unofficial and can swing sharply before listing, so treat the 56% as sentiment rather than a promise. Infosys: down 6% in five sessions as IT weakness deepens. Infosys shares fell for a fifth straight session on Tuesday, declining more than 2% and taking the five session drop to more than 6%. The stock has been tracking the broader weakness in IT, with the sector index down nearly 2% on the day and falling for a third consecutive session. The pressure has several sources. High geopolitical concerns, rising crude oil prices and elevated US Treasury yields have all weighed on technology stocks, and profit booking after earlier gains has added to the selling. For investors watching Infosys, the question is whether the current slide reflects a temporary reaction to macro nerves or the start of a longer reset. Until oil and yields settle, the sector is likely to stay under pressure. Indo-MIM: A 10% upper circuit on strong first quarter results. Indo-MIM shares hit the 10% upper circuit on August 18, trading at ₹952.75, a day after the company reported strong June quarter results. The precision components maker recorded a 31.6% year on year jump in net profit to ₹240 crore, from ₹182 crore in the same quarter last year. Consolidated revenue from core operations rose 9.3% to ₹1,219 crore from ₹1,114 crore. Profit growing more than three times as fast as revenue points to improving margins, which is exactly the kind of quality that the market is rewarding while the benchmarks struggle. Crude oil: above $91 as Iran signals a harder line. Crude oil futures traded higher on Tuesday morning after reports that Iran plans to adopt a more offensive stance in the West Asia crisis. October Brent futures were at $91.49, up 0.68%, and October WTI futures were at $84.41, up 0.80%. On the MCX, August crude futures climbed 1.10% to ₹8,152. The developments were significant. A Reuters report quoting an unnamed senior Iranian official said Iranian entities must be prepared to escalate tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider region, and that Iran would conduct a timely and precise military attack to break the US naval blockade if diplomacy failed. The memorandum of understanding signed between the US and Iran on June 17 to finalise a peace agreement expired on August 17. US President Donald Trump reiterated that the number one goal remains ensuring Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, while US special envoy Jared Kushner told Fox News that conversations with the Iranian government are more robust than ever, without giving details. Elsewhere in commodities, natural gas rose 0.43% to ₹259 on the MCX, while cottonseed oilcake gained 0.68% to ₹4,310 and castorseed slipped 0.61% to ₹7,038 on the NCDEX. Conclusion. Tuesday was the week's toughest session yet. The Sensex fell 493 points, the Nifty logged a sixth straight decline, IT stocks extended their slide and Brent crossed $91 as Iran hardened its position and a key US Iran agreement lapsed. Even so, Indo-MIM's 10% surge on a 31.6% profit jump and the 56% grey market premium on Tempsens Instruments show that investors are still willing to pay for growth. With the peace memorandum expired and Iran threatening escalation, the Strait of Hormuz remains the single biggest risk on the board. Stay selective, keep some caution in the portfolio and watch the oil price closely. Enjoyed reading this? Share it with your friends.
