  • Working experience with problem solving, quality inspection metrology tools, standard operating procedures, manufacturing safety, information capture, time management, and accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of quality management, mathematical ability, active learning, data entry, communication, and blueprint reading.
  • Extensive experience with hand dexterity.
  • Ability to remain stationary, move around the building, move equipment, use stairs or ladders when needed, position oneself around equipment, and repeatedly handle, adjust, inspect, and position items and equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish written information and defects and communicate with others.
Responsibilities
  • Operate automatic and manual cleaning and passivation lines.
  • Operate laser marking equipment.
  • Perform product cleaning and visual inspection.
  • Clean castings using sandblast equipment according to the applicable technical card.
  • Inspect and maintain blast cabinets, media, nozzles, and hoses.
  • Use conventional belting equipment for specified belting operations, including fiber-wheel and satin finishes, based on engineering drawings.
  • Use air-powered or electric handheld tools for grinding, deburring, and detailing confined areas or the inside diameter of cylindrical parts.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
  • Determine the appropriate media, machine, and machine settings from engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Complete required documentation, including process routing cards, salvage routers, and scrap forms.
  • Safely transport products using hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables.
  • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to the supervisor or lead.
  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations and reinforce safe operating practices.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives.
  • Dimensionally inspect work using calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments, and surface plates.
  • Perform weekly housekeeping according to the 5S schedule.
  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to procedures, work instructions, forms, and the Quality Management System.
  • Complete all required training.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Tecomet and Orchid Orthopedic Solutions have completed their merger, creating a global manufacturing platform serving MedTech and aerospace and defence customers. The combined company will operate under the Tecomet name, with Andreas Weller serving as CEO. The merged entity operates 24 manufacturing locations across multiple countries, offering capabilities including precision machining, additive manufacturing, forging, casting and advanced finishing.
