Requirements
  • Master’s degree or higher in archaeology, anthropology, historic preservation (or related field)
  • 1+ years of experience in cultural resource management
  • Experience with federal or state permitting for cultural resources, specifically in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah, required
  • Valid US Driver’s license, clean driving record
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Ability to be in the field/travel mandatory (60% office/40% field on average, more during summer months/field season)
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and right-of-way specialists for environmental and cultural resource concerns
  • Coordinate with federal and state agencies on current permitting requirements
  • Writing and preparation of archeological proposals, Phase I/Class I reports, and providing technical professional opinions for project planning
  • Organize and plan Phase III/Class III field projects of various sizes, in multiple states
  • Manage/train junior staff
