Rino.ai completes $100 million Series C financing.

Rino.ai completes $100 million Series C financing. Sia From Gasgoo | October 8, 2026 16:37 BJT Rino.ai, an L4 autonomous driving company, has completed its C2 financing round, bringing the company's total Series C funding to $100 million, according to a post on Rino.ai's WeChat account. Image Source: Rino.ai Key Takeaways The proceeds from the C2 round will be used to advance Rino.ai's L4 end-to-end technology and physical AI capabilities, expand its urban operating network and deepen ecosystem collaboration with industry partners. Rino.ai has developed capabilities spanning algorithms, product definition and autonomous fleet deployment for L4 autonomous driving. Rino.ai said it has established partnerships with major logistics and retail companies including SF Express, China Post, JD.com, SF Intra-city, Lalamove and Taobao Flash Delivery. It has delivered more than 5,000 autonomous logistics vehicles, with operations spanning nine application scenarios including express delivery and intra-city freight across more than 200 cities in China. Rino.ai has delivered several thousand units of the RX model since the launch in April 2026. Its R24 has also begun customer deliveries and operations, while public-road testing is underway in some cities. Technology and product development At the algorithm level, Rino.ai is focusing on mapless autonomous driving and physical AI. Its mapless solution does not rely on high-definition maps and can be deployed citywide using standard navigation maps. In 2026, the company's RX mapless solution began operating in multiple provinces and cities, including Shandong. Physical AI is being developed as an extension of Rino.ai's capabilities from autonomous driving toward embodied intelligence, with the aim of enabling vehicles to perform tasks beyond transportation. Rino.ai and SF Express have jointly developed a dual-cage self-unloading vehicle that is already operating in SF Express transfer facilities. The vehicle can automatically load and unload transfer cages, enabling integrated loading, unloading and transportation operations. At the product level, Rino.ai has built a product lineup covering urban distribution scenarios, including the automotive-grade RoboVan Rino RX and the Rino R24 autonomous light truck with a 24-cubic-meter cargo capacity. Commercial and manufacturing model Commercially, Rino.ai is pursuing a dual model combining technology licensing and transportation services. Rino Inside integrates its full-stack software, which the company says has been validated through tens of millions of kilometers of operation, into a standardized L4 integrated software-and-hardware solution available for licensing by automakers and logistics equipment companies. Under Rino FaaS, or fleet-as-a-service, Rino.ai provides transportation capacity directly to customers and handles vehicles, dispatching, maintenance and system updates, with customers paying based on actual delivery orders. On the manufacturing side, Rino.ai has established Chongqing Xiaoxiang Zhixing Technology Co., Ltd. in a joint venture with Shineray Motors. The company, described as the world's first RoboVan vehicle manufacturer, is already in production and has begun vehicle deliveries. On the battery side, Rino.ai is jointly developing dedicated batteries with Gotion JTM, a subsidiary of Gotion High-Tech. Gasgoo not only offers timely news and profound insight about China auto industry, but also help with business connection and expansion for suppliers and purchasers via multiple channels and methods. JD.com scales up 'warp-speed' hi-tech Chinese-style logistics in the UK.

JD.com scales up 'warp-speed' hi-tech Chinese-style logistics in the UK. JD.com is rapidly expanding its new Joy Logistics business in the UK by copying its customer-centric, hi-tech Chinese model with a fully-controlled operational network and fast deliveries, managing director Natalie Frow told the Leaders in Logistics Autumn conference in London yesterday (October 6). Launched just six months ago, the e-commerce marketplace's logistics unit is fully focused on scaling up operations, offering first-class customer experience and expanding the customer base, she made clear in a fireside chat with moderator Richard Lim (CEO of Retail Economics). JD.com launched Joy Express in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and France in February this year as the in-house delivery business of its new European e-commerce marketplace JoyBuy. Over the past few months, the Chinese group has invested in warehouse and fulfilment operations, building up a network of more than 60 warehouses and depots across Europe, including facilities in Milton Keynes and Luton in the UK, and distribution hubs in the Netherlands, Germany and France. JD.com opens Suzhou mall for trial operation on Oct. 1.

JD.com opens Suzhou mall for trial operation on Oct. 1. JD.com opened a shopping mall for trial operations on Oct. 1 in Suzhou. The opening expands the company's retail footprint in eastern China. It also fits Beijing's policy shift away from debt-backed real estate sales toward domestic household spending. Local governments across China face shrinking receipts from commercial land transfers. Replacing those proceeds requires steady transaction volumes at brick-and-mortar storefronts, shopping centers and tech hubs. Offline footprint in Suzhou. The Suzhou property bridges JD.com's digital logistics network with large physical retail assets. The facility began trial operations at the start of the golden week holiday. It targets regional shoppers with consumer electronics, home goods and lifestyle merchandise. Physical flagships allow e-commerce platforms to capture on-site customer service revenue and handle returns faster. They anchor local retail districts. That gives city administrators a direct pipeline to consumer tax receipts. From land sales to store receipts. For decades, local authorities relied on developer auctions to balance city budgets and fund civic infrastructure. That mechanism stalled as property construction slowed nationwide. Central planners now encourage municipal leaders to build tax bases around recurring retail sales, consumer services and commercial logistics. City halls have shifted how they treat commercial tenants. Municipal officials prioritize operators that deliver high sales turnover and dependable point-of-sale tax revenue over one-time development premiums. Retailers with established supply chains hold stronger bargaining power during site negotiations. Luxury expansion and industrial demand. Luxury mall operators are also pursuing store expansions across China, defying broader retail caution. High-end property managers are adding space in regional commercial centers to capture resilient premium spending. Industrial data reflects broader economic stabilization. Chinese factory activity expanded in September, lifted by output across artificial intelligence supply chains and consumer hardware manufacturing. Trade truce and operating headwinds. Cross-border trade conditions provide temporary breathing room for domestic retailers managing inventory and supply chains. Beijing and Washington agreed to extend their bilateral trade truce until January, according to statements following high-level economic negotiations. Import duties climbed toward 145 per cent before negotiators established commercial frameworks, including the Busan understanding in October 2025. Stabilized tariffs reduce input price volatility for merchants stocking electronics and imported goods. JD.com will evaluate customer footfall and tenant sales data during the Suzhou trial phase before setting the date for full commercial operations. Retail operators will watch the January expiration of the bilateral tariff truce. Questions & answers. Q. What is the main purpose of JD.com's new mall in Suzhou? A. The new mall expands JD.com's retail footprint and aligns with Beijing's policy to shift away from debt-backed real estate sales towards domestic household spending. It targets regional shoppers with consumer electronics, home goods, and lifestyle merchandise. Q. How does this new mall benefit local governments in China? Q. What factors are driving expansion for other retailers in China despite broader caution? Q. What impact do cross-border trade conditions have on domestic retailers mentioned in the article? Chinese retailers grab 6.4M sq ft of UK warehouse space in Amazon battle

Chinese e-commerce companies have leased 21 warehouses in the UK over the past 18 months, totalling 6.4 million square feet, according to Knight Frank. Another seven facilities were built by investors on their behalf. This represents approximately 11% of total large warehouse take-up in Britain, up from 4% in the previous 18 months. Companies like Shein and JD.com are now the biggest foreign occupiers of UK warehouse space, surpassing US businesses. The expansion follows upcoming 2028 changes to customs duty rules that will make it more expensive to ship low-value goods directly from China. Chinese retailers are developing Amazon-style distribution hubs to build UK warehouse capacity before the changes take effect. Most deals involve space in the Midlands "golden triangle" near major motorway routes. Knight Frank said the activity reflects Chinese e-commerce companies' willingness to challenge Amazon's market dominance.

Trust and reliability put JD.com at No. 2 in Inside Retail's Asia Brand Conviction Index.

Trust and reliability put JD.com at No. 2 in Inside Retail's Asia Brand Conviction Index. JD.com, Inc. is pleased to be ranked No. 2 among Asia's Top 100 retailers and No. 1 in China in Inside Retail's inaugural Brand Conviction Index, which measures how strongly consumers choose, recommend and intend to continue buying from retail brands. Released on September 29, the index draws on more than 70,000 consumer interviews across 11 Asian markets and 12 months of YouGov BrandIndex data. Rather than focusing on size or market share, the ranking looks at the strength of the relationship between the retailer and its customers. What stood out to JD.com, Inc. was Inside Retail's focus on trust and reliability in its assessment of JD.com. "JD earns conviction by turning reliability into a reason to return," Inside Retail wrote, highlighting its focus on genuine products, dependable delivery, installation and responsive after-sales service. It also noted that these capabilities help reduce uncertainty throughout the purchase journey, particularly in categories where trust can matter more to consumers than simply finding a lower price. In a separate feature on JD.com, Inside Retail captured this idea particularly well: "In a market where another discount is always waiting elsewhere, JD stands out by making trust valuable enough that consumers do not judge every purchase on price alone." That observation resonates with JD.com, Inc.. JD.com, Inc. has spent years investing in the experience behind each purchase, from product authenticity and supply chain capabilities to delivery and after-sales service. As its business expands into more retail and service scenarios, JD.com, Inc. want customers to know that the same reliability they have come to expect from JD.com will remain at the heart of their shopping experience. Inside Retail described this as "hard-won confidence" that is extending into more frequent consumer occasions. For JD.com, Inc., the recognition is a meaningful reminder that trust is not simply about completing a transaction. It is about giving customers the confidence to come back and to recommend JD.com to others. ([email protected])
