How You Will Make An Impact
As an Area Manager you will lead a team of 60-100 Associates, including 2-4 Operations Leads, for inbound, outbound, automation or another business area. Your role is to collaborate with your peers to meet production goals and keep workflow humming for your shift. You manage your team by developing and supporting Leads who are actively coaching Associates on processes, procedures, quality standards, workflow, and scheduling. You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about leading and coaching your team, utilize data to plan weekly and beyond, study processes and systems to help improve and innovate, and build relationships with your team, peers, and leadership.
PM Shift: Monday-Thursday 3pm-1:30am
In This Role You’ll Get To:
- You are passionate about owning your team’s performance and setting them up for success by collaborating with peers, coaching and developing Associates, and proactively communicating in all directions.
- You are tech-savvy and are comfortable utilizing reporting tools to analyze KPIs and using that info to improve distribution center performance.
- You are an excellent communicator and are well-versed in engaging, recognizing the team, establishing personal connections and demonstrating care.
- Partnership is key! Collaborate with your team, peers, and leadership to improve processes, increase efficiency, and target areas of opportunity.
- Takin’ care of business to meet the day-to-day needs of the team including vacation requests, scheduling, timecards, attendance, and more.
- Keep things interesting by participating in special projects as needed.
- Help build the team UP by giving and receiving timely, constructive, and respectful feedback with team members, peers, and leadership.
- Flex your cross-functional skills by actively participating in the recruiting, onboarding, development, and retention of Associates.
- Pave the way for the team’s success by demonstrating and awarding ambassadors of the thredUP values (DOTS) and culture in all interactions.
- Taking care of the team by creating a safe work environment and showing others how to operate safely.
What We’re Looking For:

- 5+ years in distribution/retail experience, including at least 3 years of successful training, mentoring, coaching, and developing people you’ve led.
- You are comfortable making complex decisions to balance the needs of the team and the business.
- Experience utilizing reports and KPIs to coach and develop team members.
