Requirements
  • A high school diploma and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • The ability to read instructions, perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and understand percentages.
  • The ability to monitor the production line and make decisions necessary to improve workflow and output.
  • The ability to communicate factual information, balance talking with listening, and inspire people to achieve results.
  • The ability to stay self-motivated while achieving set targets, eliminate waste, and accept and embrace change.
  • The ability to determine how information fits together and relates to production efficiency.
  • The ability to break problems down into steps and produce logical, timely solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure production-line manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, quality, regulatory, customer, and productivity standards.
  • Ensure the production assembly line is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and the production schedule.
  • Provide effective training to line staff and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained.
  • Assemble products using hand tools and equipment, fixtures, work instructions, and specifications to correctly produce finished goods.
  • Ensure the production line is properly set up and operates safely.
  • Ensure line workers understand their respective personal protective equipment and other safety requirements.
  • Participate in and promote safety observations and address unsafe acts or behaviors.
  • Operate a clean and organized production line.
  • Recognize and motivate talented line workers to become full-time members of the company.
  • Train production-line employees and monitor their performance, adjusting tasks and positions to maximize workflow.
  • Work with technicians, manufacturing engineering, production supervision, and materials/warehouse staff to resolve issues.
  • Manage and prioritize staffing assignments with supervisors and other team leads to meet customer demand and production schedules.
  • Plan and schedule each hour of the shift to maximize production-line output.
  • Give assembly-line workers instructions so they understand expectations and have the necessary tools.
  • Verify, manage, and reconcile inventory consumption and remaining balances.
  • Collaborate with the production lead or supervisor to resolve issues that could compromise on-time order delivery.
  • Use problem-solving skills to ensure stable work-cell operation.
  • Report quality, process, equipment, material, and labor problems or concerns to the production supervisor.
  • Stage daily workflow and line changeovers proactively.
  • Execute and coordinate employee training so procedures meet regulatory and customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Ensure traceability of materials requiring lot or expiration-date tracking.
  • Complete documentation required for business or regulatory purposes.
  • Prevent and continually minimize deviations and nonconformances.
  • Sustain and drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Observe, maintain, coordinate, and complete standard work.
  • Accurately track products and materials from staging through finished production in Pack Manager and ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Update system records and complete required production-line reporting and administrative tasks.
  • Complete production-line paperwork, update records of completed work, and note issues.
  • Identify and support continuous-improvement efforts with the production supervisor.
  • Operate within required staffing levels for each order.
  • Seek ways to remove sources of waste from the production line.
  • Follow up to ensure quality tasks are completed.
  • Establish repetitious routines and monitor and adjust them as required.
  • Develop a motivated and competent production-line team.

  • Lean Manufacturing and continuous process-improvement experience.
