About the job
- Hold full Australian working rights.
- Hold a current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Be able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- Be able to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads, and car parks.
- Monitor and report security, safety, and operational concerns, and respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
- Apply verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques when responding to challenging or escalating behaviours.
- Engage respectfully with passengers experiencing distress and provide first aid when required.
- Maintain accurate security logs, patrol records, and incident reports.
- Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support, or another public-facing operational environment is highly regarded.
- Confidence applying de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour without unnecessarily escalating a situation.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate respectfully with vulnerable or distressed people.
