  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Understanding of medical terminology is required.
  • The candidate must be able to type 35 words per minute and be computer literate.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a primary office environment and workstation, with potential exposure to communicable disease.
  • The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Register patients and verify insurance benefits, precertifications, and demographic information.
  • Refer patients for financial assistance and assist with financial assistance applications as needed.
  • Collect payments and post cash receipts.
  • Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Page various code situations and make overhead paging announcements, including emergency announcements.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare charts and perform other office duties as required by the supervisor.
  • Answer the main switchboard.
  • Contact relevant parties through the paging system.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in a medical-related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
