Requirements
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Co-op program at an accredited engineering school, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related degree.
  • Candidates must complete at least three full-time alternating Co-op rotations before graduation and should avoid a full course load while working.
  • Candidates must be able to work in an office environment and occasionally visit active construction jobsites, including navigating stairs, ladders, hoists, and construction areas.
  • Candidates may occasionally be required to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Candidates must demonstrate effective communication across project managers, drafting staff, field staff, and fabrication shops.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team.
  • Candidates must be able to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
  • Candidates must demonstrate problem-solving ability and attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks with urgency.
Responsibilities
  • Work alongside Project Managers to manage the mechanical, plumbing, and/or controls construction of projects from start to finish using Revit, Bluebeam, Procore, and BIM 360.
  • Coordinate with vendors to schedule and procure materials and equipment purchases for construction projects.
  • Update project cost expenditures for project budgets.
  • Plan with Project Managers and Field Foremen to meet major schedule milestones with field crews onsite.
  • Assist in the preconstruction phase by gathering quotes, performing take-offs, and helping assemble estimates.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits, submittals, and other project documentation.
  • Survey project sites for adherence to safety, quality, and production values.
  • Take on additional responsibilities each rotation while managing priorities.
