About the job

Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience in general business law, with meaningful focus on gaming, sweepstakes, media, entertainment, or technology startups.
  • Experience in a large law firm and/or in-house at a high-growth company, with the ability to operate at startup speed and in ambiguous situations.
  • A strong track record in contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • A proactive, business-first approach and the ability to make decisions in fast-moving, high-ambiguity environments.
  • The ability to work independently and own a wide range of legal matters with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on sweepstakes compliance, gaming regulations, and general corporate promotional law across all jurisdictions in which the company operates.
  • Partner with the Head of Legal to build and scale the legal function as the company grows.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, licensing deals, and partnership agreements.
  • Provide practical, business-first guidance on gray areas of gaming law while maintaining acceptable risk tolerance.
  • Advise on employment law matters and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving state and federal gaming, sweepstakes, and consumer protection regulations and translate them into clear business guidance.
  • Manage relationships with outside counsel and regulators where needed, and independently lead selected matters.
  • Support corporate governance, risk management, and day-to-day business operations.
  • Review marketing, advertising, and promotional materials for legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Build internal legal processes, templates, and playbooks as the team scales.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience in iGaming and/or sweepstakes law.
  • Experience in a large law firm or in-house at a high-growth company.
