Emergency Room Technician
About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One to three years of emergency-room experience, emergency medical technician experience, or at least one year as a certified nursing assistant is required.
- Emergency medical technician or certified nursing assistant certification is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds is required.
- Availability for 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.
- Support physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center.
- Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, start intravenous lines, and perform electrocardiograms.
- Perform point-of-care testing, wound care, and laboratory specimen collection.
- Apply orthopedic splints and fit crutches.
- Transport patients and assist with procedures.
- Keep rooms clean and supplies stocked.
- Emergency medical technician or certified nursing assistant certification is preferred.
