Requirements
  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
  • Have experience of working with service users who have multiple risk factors, including domestic violence, anti-social behaviour, unemployment, poor or unsuitable housing, pregnancy-related harm, and harm reduction.
  • Have experience of working in close partnership with key stakeholders, including Children and Adult Social Services and safeguarding boards.
  • Be proactive and able to work on own initiative, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to manage change successfully while prioritising the needs of service users.
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to following and applying all necessary safeguards.
  • Have experience undertaking comprehensive assessments, care planning, case management, and reviews.
  • Have sound working knowledge of child protection procedures.
  • Be flexible to work some evenings and weekends if requested.
  • Already have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of application; the employer cannot support new visa applications or extensions for time-limited visas.
Responsibilities
  • Support service users with social reintegration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives while promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
  • Identify families who would benefit from a whole-family approach, negotiate their participation and engagement with ReNew services and the MPACT programme, and deliver evidence-based parenting programmes where required.
  • Manage a caseload of individuals with complex safeguarding needs who are pregnant and/or have children’s social care involvement.
  • Ensure that appropriate safeguarding practice is followed and work in partnership with statutory agencies where appropriate.
  • Provide assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated care planning, aftercare support, and transfer of care.
  • Provide service-user advocacy to support engagement with and access to partnership services.
  • Develop strong relationships with partner agencies and maintain robust referral protocols and care pathways for identifying, referring, and supporting people requiring hidden-harm interventions.
  • Represent the service at partnership meetings, including MARAC, child-in-need, and child-protection meetings.
