Requirements
  • Maintain a current nursing license and participate in continuing education programs to keep the license current.
  • Protect resident and facility information, including user credentials and protected health information, and report suspected unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Ensure nursing assistants and nurse aide trainees meet applicable training, supervision, and qualification requirements.
  • Follow established nursing, medication administration, documentation, safety, sanitation, infection control, confidentiality, and facility procedures.
  • Use restraints, personal protective equipment, mechanical lifts, and other nursing equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and coordinate assigned nursing staff and support personnel across the shift.
  • Ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, nursing standards, safety rules, infection control requirements, and resident care plans.
  • Review and recommend revisions to department policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, nursing procedures, and quality assurance processes.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing, work assignments, and nursing service schedules.
  • Prepare written and oral shift reports, recommendations, medical forms, evaluations, studies, census reports, charge slips, and other administrative records.
  • Participate in facility surveys, quality assurance activities, discharge planning, resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Complete, maintain, and review resident records, charts, care plans, medication cards, treatment plans, incident reports, transfer forms, nurses’ notes, and other required documentation.
  • Receive telephone orders from physicians, transcribe physician orders, record diet changes, identify discrepancies, and report documentation or order issues to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain medication and narcotic records, order supplies, and manage medication discrepancies and disposal.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, assess staffing needs, report absences, recommend personnel actions, and provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel.
  • Make daily rounds, monitor work assignments, review complaints and grievances, receive and give nursing reports, and report occupational exposures or suspected fraud.
  • Inform nursing personnel about admissions, prepare rooms, orient residents and families, coordinate physician rounds and diagnostic or therapeutic services, and consult physicians regarding resident care.
  • Review resident charts, implement nursing objectives and standards, monitor treatments and resident condition, and coordinate restorative, rehabilitative, social, and activity programs.
  • Provide licensed nursing care, including catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurement, range-of-motion exercises, and care of dying residents.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin about accidents, incidents, or changes in resident condition; arrange transportation; escort discharged residents; and coordinate post-mortem procedures.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct in-service training and orientation programs; assist with nurse aide trainee supervision and standardize work methods.
  • Monitor safety and sanitation, maintain clean and safe work areas, support fire and disaster drills, and implement infection control and hazardous-condition reporting procedures.
  • Maintain adequate medication, supply, equipment, and personal protective equipment stock; recommend unit needs; and ensure equipment is operated safely by trained personnel.
  • Review and revise resident care plans, ensure nurses’ notes reflect care-plan implementation, and assist with Minimum Data Set assessments, RAPs, and triggers.
  • Provide data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee and report suspected fraud involving false billing, cost reports, or kickbacks.

PACS Group beats Q1 estimates with $0.50 EPS and $1.42B revenue despite 12.5% year-to-date stock decline

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group appoints Carey Hendrickson as chief financial officer

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. PACS Group appoints Optum CEO Dr Patrick Conway, former CMS deputy administrator, to board

PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer.
