Requirements
  • Three or more years of selling experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills, word processing software, email, Microsoft Excel, customer relationship management systems, and web-based tools.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ability to present a sales pitch and close customers.
  • Ability to use listening skills to select an appropriate customer offer.
  • Ability to negotiate in a sales environment and overcome customer resistance to sales calls.
  • Ability to interface with internal and external management, employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to gather and interpret moderately complex data and analyze and resolve problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Ability to follow through to completion on customer issues and problems.
Responsibilities
  • Contact commercial customers from a defined prospecting list.
  • Present competitive business solutions that meet customers' needs.
  • Meet and exceed sales quotas.
  • Effectively manage prospects in the assigned sales territory.
  • Maintain records and timely complete required reports to build a pipeline of customers for future prospecting.
  • Collect customer, market, and competitor information during the sales process to improve channel success.
  • Maintain open communication and morale within the group and among supporting work groups.
  • Assist in presenting results, implications, and recommendations to management.

Luminant generates electricity in Texas and also conducts mining, wholesale marketing and trading, and development activities as part of Vistra Energy. It owns about 17,000 MW of capacity, including nuclear and coal, and buys wind power to supply and balance its portfolio. It differs from competitors by combining a large, diversified generation fleet with active trading, mining, and development under a Texas-focused parent, rather than focusing on only generation or only retail. Its goal is to be a leading competitive energy provider in Texas by owning and operating a broad mix of assets and participating in wholesale markets to deliver reliable power.
