About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field is required.
- At least 7–10 years of experience in import/export operations, with a proven track record of success, is required.
- Deep knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements is required.
- Deep knowledge of global supply chain management and cross-border logistics is required.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (iScala or SAP) and trade-specific software is required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Ability to lead teams and manage complex projects is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail is required.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline import and export processes and improve efficiency.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of international shipments, including documentation, customs clearance, and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other service providers.
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Direct and coach a team of import and export specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain operations.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to import/export activities.
- Stay up to date on changes in international trade laws and regulations.
- A customs and international trade certification (CCIT) or similar certification is preferred.
- Experience working with U.S. and Mexican customs regulations is highly desirable.
- Occasional travel may be required.
