  • Establish and reinforce design review, code review, testing, and continuous integration practices for secure, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support by helping engineers with complex diagnostics using debugging tools, performance analysis, and code-level investigation, and represent the team in cross-organization discussions.
  • Foster a customer-focused and inclusive team environment in which engineers understand customer impact, collaborate across teams, and share ownership of customer outcomes.
  • Champion AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows across the organization, setting standards and expectations so teams use AI to improve speed without compromising security or quality.
  • Establish guardrails and best practices for responsible AI-tool use, ensuring correctness, security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Encourage teams to use AI to accelerate root-cause analysis and debugging, improve test coverage and validation, and reduce toil through automation and repeatable workflows.

Microsoft vs Accenture: why cloud growth and 40.3% margins favour Microsoft for 2027

A Motley Fool analyst favours Microsoft over Accenture as the better technology stock for 2027, arguing that Microsoft's cloud is where companies run their AI. In fiscal 2026, Microsoft reported revenue of about $331.8 billion and net income of $133.7 billion, a net margin of roughly 40.3%. Accenture's revenue was nearly $74.2 billion, up 6.5%, with net income of $8.4 billion. Accenture is cheaper, with a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 17.6x against Microsoft's 26.1x. Microsoft's cloud revenue growth rose to 30% in fiscal Q1 2027, though AI data centre costs weigh on free cash flow. The analyst expects Accenture's sales to grow only modestly in fiscal 2027.

Big Tech capex hits $201.9B as free cash flow turns negative, fuelling stock sell-off

Big Tech's spending on artificial intelligence is outrunning its cash, and investors are reacting. The combined capital expenditure of Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Microsoft rose $36.9 billion in the third quarter to $201.9 billion, The Kobeissi Letter calculated. That is up 356% since the first quarter of 2024. Over the same period, the four companies' combined free cash flow fell $33.1 billion to a negative $26.4 billion, a record low. Only Microsoft reported positive free cash flow. The strategists estimate the group will spend another $232 billion in the fourth quarter. On Friday, more than $1 trillion in market value was wiped out of the AI trade. "The AI narrative is cracking as profitability concerns intensify," said Matt Maley, chief markets strategist at Miller Tabak.
