Requirements

A valid state Registered Nurse license is required.
Three to five years of experience, including supervisory experience, is required.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is required.
Basic Life Support certification is required before the hire date.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification or completion within the first six months of employment is required.

Responsibilities

Report to the Chief Nursing Officer and work alongside nurses to direct assigned nursing personnel, serving as a resource person and consultant to ensure the plan of care for the patient population.
Use specialized knowledge and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development.
Provide and oversee patient care and implement hospital and department philosophy and objectives.
Provide leadership during crises to assure continuity of care and a productive work environment.
Maintain approved standards of patient care and collaborate with appropriate persons for continuity of care under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer.
Communicate clinical issues related to service or program development to the Chief Nursing Officer.
Promote clinical development, competency, and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes.
Evaluate performance of professional and non-licensed nursing personnel and cooperate in interviewing prospective staff.
Ensure that staff are accountable for documenting care provided, patient and family teaching, and discharge planning for assigned patients.
Contribute to the smooth functioning of the unit by providing direction to staff, other departments, and families as needed.

Desired Qualifications

A master's degree is preferred.
Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Valid State RN License required.
Three to five years experience including supervisory experience required.
BSN or enrollment in BSN program required.
Certified BLS before hire date required
Certified ACLS or completion in first 6 months of employment required

Preferred Experience

CRRN preferred
Masters degree preferred
