Requirements
  • Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.

  • Existing BPSS or SC security clearance is preferred in the qualifications text, but the role requires security clearance for some projects.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage small project teams on small projects.
  • Serve as discipline lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects.
  • Provide specialised technical input to studies and design within the staff member's area of expertise.
  • Provide technical direction for studies and design efforts.
  • Present technical solutions to clients.
  • Perform quality-control reviews of work developed by junior engineers.
  • Participate in developing technical proposals.
  • Provide estimates for engineering budgets and schedules and oversee technical resources to meet requirements on large projects.
  • Attend design-team and coordination meetings where required.
  • Input to prequalification and selection of contractors, respond to tender queries, and comment on and review tender returns.
  • Attend tender interviews with the project manager and site-inspection meetings.
  • Obtain necessary information internally and externally from architects, cost consultants, and other design consultants so the design can proceed.
  • Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other design-team members.
  • Identify and effectively meet client requirements and expectations.
  • Be familiar with the building information modeling design process and lead projects designed in Autodesk Revit.
  • Design low-voltage distribution systems, lighting and emergency lighting, fire detection and alarms, and lightning protection.
  • Use building services engineering software and Autodesk Revit.
  • Train junior engineers.
