Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose the current business environment in assigned accounts in relation to cardiovascular products and plan and execute actions for account success.
  • Serve as the strategic lead for assigned key accounts and execute compliant strategies to engage priority providers.
  • Ensure institutional availability across inpatient and ambulatory care settings.
  • Lead implementation initiatives that enable sustainable institution and system utilization.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans aligned with cardiovascular business-unit strategy and informed by institutional needs, business performance, and access or implementation barriers.
  • Collaborate with field teams, including compliant partnerships with aligned medical science liaisons.
  • Meet routinely with opinion leaders and decision-makers in cardiology, lipidology, pharmacy, and P&T committees.
  • Present MAC-approved data and messages in compliance with governing policies.
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products and coordinate pull-through and access with sales colleagues.
  • Monitor aligned accounts, cardiovascular business performance, and overall market dynamics.
  • Identify drivers and barriers and coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams.
  • Coordinate home-office engagement with customers and arrange approved programs, displays, and hospital initiatives.
  • Build and develop professional relationships with hospital pharmacy, lipid clinical, heart failure clinical and quality directors, and hospital finance decision-makers.
  • Coordinate with access specialists to support open access to the portfolio.
  • Provide field intelligence, insights, and recommendations to business analytics, brand, and market access teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three or more years of account management and/or public payor experience.
  • An advanced degree such as an MPH, MBA, or PharmD, plus 7 or more years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or related buying-process and decision-making experience.
  • Clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access-environment, competitor, and industry experience.
  • Cardiology experience, including dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes.
  • Understanding of current community cardiology practice environments and trends.
  • Understanding of dyslipidemia and heart failure dynamics, including inpatient-to-outpatient management, protocols, readmission programs, electronic management systems, performance and quality metrics, and CHF/interventional priorities.
  • District management experience.
  • Knowledge of hospital committee structures, P&T processes, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and hospital reimbursement processes, and their impact on approved cardiovascular products and competitors.
  • Functional knowledge of Medicare and government agencies and strategic account management in state or federal sectors.
  • Knowledge of payor systems and CMS policies and processes.
  • Documented ability to work with sales forces to resolve payor-related issues.
  • Leadership through influence and impact without authority.
  • Interpersonal skills in networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and written and verbal communication.
