  • Experience with Typescript/React — deep knowledge of CSS architecture, web platform APIs, React Native is a plus
  • Experience with infrastructure or migration problems at scale — CSS architecture, UI testing infrastructure, large-scale component migrations, or similar work on a platform product, requiring collaboration and advocacy across teams
  • A systems-level perspective — thinking beyond individual components to the standards, practices, and migration strategies that affect the whole frontend specialty

Responsibilities
  • Improve the usability, discoverability, and developer experience of our design system through documentation, tooling, and design system enhancements.
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to reduce friction for consumers, balancing thoroughness with timely execution.
  • Own and maintain key systems or tools, ensuring their operational health and continued relevance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product teams across Canva to understand pain points and refine solutions.
  • Advocate for engineering and developer experience needs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Codify and share knowledge through concise documentation, presentations, and internal engagement.

PayPal has launched Payment Links directly within Canva, enabling the platform's 265 million monthly users to accept payments from their designs without external websites or complex e-commerce tools. The integration allows creators and small businesses to add PayPal checkout, including Venmo and PayPal Pay Later, to digital or printed content. The feature addresses growing demand for social commerce, projected to exceed $1 trillion by 2028. Users can generate payment links or QR codes, create customised checkout pages, and accept payments across approximately 200 markets in multiple currencies.
