Facilities Maintenance Specialist
About the job
- Previous maintenance or technician experience is required.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration is preferred.
- Capability to set up preventive maintenance for all aspects of buildings.
- Entry-level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn tools are required.
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
- Work closely with the Facilities Lead to complete daily maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance activities, and facility repairs.
- Assist with routine building inspections to identify maintenance needs, equipment deficiencies, and potential safety hazards.
- Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks, including replacing light bulbs, adjusting fixtures, tightening hardware, assembling furniture, and completing minor repairs.
- Support preventive maintenance activities involving building systems, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, plumbing, and HVAC under appropriate guidance.
- Respond to maintenance requests from department managers and assist in resolving routine facility and equipment issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing concerns within the scope of training and authorization.
- Identify malfunctioning equipment or building systems and promptly escalate concerns requiring specialized technical assistance.
- Support minor facility improvement projects, including painting, patching, and maintaining building components.
- Assist qualified technicians and external contractors with scheduled maintenance, equipment servicing, and repairs as directed.
- Document completed maintenance tasks, identified issues, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain facilities tools, supplies, and equipment in safe, organized, and working condition.
- Follow established safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Communicate maintenance updates, unresolved issues, and safety concerns to the Facilities Lead and management.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
