Cboe Global Markets operates an exchange network that lists and trades a wide range of financial instruments, including global derivatives, foreign exchange, digital assets, and securities. Its platform matches buy and sell orders, clears and settles trades, and earns revenue from transaction fees and market data. The company serves institutional investors, retail investors, and financial intermediaries through a global infrastructure that facilitates trading and data services. Unlike firms that focus on a single asset class, Cboe offers multiple asset classes and a long history (over 50 years) to provide broad market access and reliable infrastructure. The goal is to power the global economy by creating inclusive markets and helping investors build sustainable financial futures, while also supporting community growth and employee development.

Cboe Global Markets will hire Catherine Grover as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective November 16, 2026. She will be based in Chicago and report to chief executive officer Craig Donohue. Grover will oversee Cboe's global human resources function, aligning talent and workforce strategies with the company's next phase of growth. She joins from PNC Financial Services Group, where she spent more than 29 years in HR leadership and business roles. Most recently, she was executive vice president of human resources, leading teams that supported about 55,000 employees. "Cathy's experience will help us continue building the leadership, talent and organizational capabilities needed to support our ambitions," Donohue said.
Cboe Global Markets extended its exclusive licence for S&P 500 Index options with S&P Dow Jones Indices through 2051. The 25-year renewal reduces the risk of losing its flagship index options business. Cboe also plans to launch binary contracts tied to company-specific key performance indicators. They would initially cover 23 major US-listed stocks and be cleared through Cboe Clear U.S., subject to regulatory approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Cboe shares are up 12.1% after the announcements. The KPI contracts look incremental rather than a near-term earnings driver. Competition and fee pressure remain risks to Cboe's core economics.
The US options market is set for a seventh consecutive record year, with leading exchange operators Cboe Global Markets and Nasdaq reporting strong growth. Cboe posted record second-quarter 2026 results, with net revenue rising 25% year-over-year to $732 million. Its derivatives business drove growth, with index options average daily volume up 32% to 6.2 million contracts. Nasdaq reported $1.5 billion in net revenue for the same period, up 15%. Its index options revenue more than doubled for the fourth straight quarter, whilst index exchange-traded product assets under management crossed $1 trillion. Both exchanges are expanding beyond core offerings. Cboe recently launched Cboe Predicts, featuring binary options on the Mini-S&P 500 Index. It's also developing company-specific key performance indicator contracts, pending regulatory approval.
Cboe Global Markets reported strong Q2 fiscal 2026 results on 31 July, with net revenue rising 24.6% to a record $731.6 million. The Chicago-based exchange operator's adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 44.7% to $3.56, driven by a 30% surge in Options segment revenue. The company raised its 2026 organic total net revenue growth guidance to "mid to high teens" from "low double-digit to mid-teens". Analysts expect diluted EPS to grow 29.2% year-over-year to $13.78 for fiscal 2026. Cboe shares have gained 16.7% over the past year and are up 17.12% year-to-date in 2026, outperforming the S&P 500's 11.6% gain this year. Of 18 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is "Hold", based on three "Strong Buys", 12 "Holds", and three "Strong Sells".
Cboe Global Markets has raised its quarterly dividend to $0.86 per share for the third quarter of 2026, up from $0.72. The payment will be made on 15 September 2026 to shareholders of record on 31 August 2026. This marks the 16th consecutive year of dividend increases. The 19% rise reinforces the company's commitment to returning cash to shareholders whilst it expands its clearing and trading services. The dividend growth accompanies Cboe Clear Europe's planned expansion into fixed-income lending through its Securities Financing Transactions service. However, analysts note the company remains heavily reliant on its S&P index options partnership, which presents a concentration risk. Community fair value estimates for the stock range from $143.58 to $317.71 per share, reflecting divergent views on the company's prospects.
