Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in environmental services, equipment operations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing equipment operations, inventory, and maintenance programs across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of environmental field equipment and safety regulations.
  • Mechanical aptitude with pumps, gauges, meters, small engines, and related equipment.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams, including managing geographically dispersed staff.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, reporting tools, and equipment tracking software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop processes, improve operational performance, and manage competing priorities.
  • A technical and customer-service-oriented mindset with a strong focus on quality and responsiveness.
  • An analytical mindset with strong business acumen and emotional intelligence.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a national equipment management strategy that optimizes equipment utilization, availability, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency across all locations.
  • Manage national equipment inventory, including tracking, assignment, condition, maintenance status, and movement of environmental equipment.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, inspection, repair, and replacement programs to ensure equipment readiness, reliability, and compliance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Oversee coordination for equipment requests, assignments, check-in/check-out processes, returns, and accountability for internal employees and project teams.
  • Partner with project managers, operational leaders, and regional equipment store managers to anticipate equipment needs, ensure availability, and support project execution.
  • Manage staff within the equipment store function, including hiring, training, developing, and coaching equipment store personnel and regional managers while establishing performance expectations and promoting accountability and customer service.
  • Coordinate procurement activities, including equipment evaluation, supplier management, contract negotiation, and budget planning for purchases and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting related to equipment inventory, utilization, maintenance, inspections, safety compliance, and key performance metrics.
  • Monitor operational performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance equipment utilization, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to Weston locations as needed to support operations, resolve issues, conduct assessments, and promote consistency across equipment store functions.
  • Manage and support a diverse inventory of environmental field equipment, including air, soil, and water monitoring instruments, sampling equipment, meters, personal protective equipment, respirators, and other project support assets.
  • Manage fleet operations, including vehicle assignments, maintenance coordination, inspections, utilization tracking, vendor coordination, and documentation to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective project execution.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair environmental equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Prepare equipment for deployment by ensuring proper accessories, calibration records, instructions, documentation, and required compliance materials are included.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and equipment training to internal customers and project teams.
  • Assign and maintain equipment status, labeling, and asset-tracking information.
  • Inspect returned equipment to verify condition, completeness, and readiness for future deployment.
