Requirements
  • A university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications is required.
  • Experience applying The Open Group Architecture Framework and/or enterprise architecture frameworks within an organization is required.
  • Proven experience in application design patterns is required.
  • Proven experience in .NET and Java technologies is required.
  • Proven experience in service-oriented architectures, including enterprise service buses, service registries, Simple Object Access Protocol, Extensible Markup Language, web services, Business Process Execution Language, integration design patterns, and governance, is required.
  • Proven experience in web technologies, HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, and AngularJS is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of mainframe systems is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of software development methodologies, including Rational Unified Process, Agile, Extreme Programming, the software development life cycle, and Waterfall, is required.
  • Understanding of information technology security, confidentiality, and privacy practices and regulations is required.
  • Strong verbal and written business and technical communication skills are required.
  • The ability to map technology to business problems and vice versa is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to facilitate technical reviews or design sessions are required.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities are required.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines are required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for a range of enterprise applications, providing direction on solution design and development to improve technology-environment efficiency or reduce total technology operating costs.
  • Contribute to architectural standards for all application services and components.
  • Increase reuse and reduce redundancy in applications and technology designs within the information technology infrastructure.
  • Participate in the development, propagation, and adoption of Enterprise Architecture Governance across information technology through implementation of The Open Group Architecture Framework principles.
  • Apply critical analysis to technical feasibility studies, system design artifacts, Unified Modeling Language designs, and business requirement documents.
  • Maintain an understanding of business strategies and infrastructure capabilities to ensure application architectures are flexible and support business needs.
  • Assess proposals and designs for application, data, infrastructure, and business-solution architectural compliance before, during, and after implementation.
  • Lead application performance assessment.
  • Identify and assess technologies that may significantly affect the technology or business environments or provide cost savings to Foresters.
  • Provide solutions, alternatives, and recommendations to business leaders regarding application changes and enhancements.
  • Define and design high-quality application architectures that meet stakeholder requirements and align with enterprise architectural standards and industry implementations.
  • Lead and inspire others through conviction and vision, market solutions, and exercise influence through ideas rather than mandate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of the life insurance business and financial services, including Policy Administration, New Business/Underwriting, Claims, Billing, and Compensation, is preferred.

Foresters Financial expands accelerated underwriting to $2M, broadens eligibility and adds digital tools

Foresters Financial has expanded its Accelerated Underwriting programme in the US, raising face amount limits to $2 million for ages 18 to 60 and $1 million for ages 61 to 65. The enhanced programme, effective 26 April 2026, broadens eligibility to include smokers and those taking hypertension or cholesterol medications. The updates introduce a pre-screen checklist on iPipeline iGO e-App, allowing producers to quickly identify potential eligibility before submission. The programme applies across all medically underwritten Foresters products, including Your Term, Advantage Plus II and SMART UL. The expansion coincides with Paul Greene's appointment as Chief Underwriter. For over 150 years, Foresters has provided life insurance whilst maintaining an "A" rating from A.M. Best for 25 consecutive years.
