Sun Life provides a wide range of financial services worldwide, mainly through life and health insurance, financial planning, and investment solutions for individuals, businesses, and institutions. Its products work by collecting premiums for insurance coverage, fees for planning services, and returns on investments; these funds are used to pay claims, support financial planning advice, and generate investment gains. What sets Sun Life apart is its global presence across Canada, the United States, Asia, and Europe, plus a comprehensive product lineup and a focus on helping clients achieve financial security and healthier lives, rather than relying on a single product. The company aims to grow and manage wealth for clients while pursuing sustainability goals, including net zero emissions by 2050.

Sun Life expands AI tools for advisors, earning 2026 CIO Award Canada recognition.

Sun Life expands AI tools for advisors, earning 2026 CIO Award Canada recognition. By E. B. Graves August 19, 2026 Sun Life announced on Aug. 19 the expansion of its artificial intelligence offerings for advisors, aiming to reduce administrative work and allow more time for client engagement. The company's suite now includes Notes Assistant, which recently earned a 2026 CIO Award Canada, and a newly launched AI-powered advisor concierge designed to streamline information retrieval and client support. According to Sun Life, these AI-powered tools help simplify everyday tasks for advisors by supporting faster follow-up and enhancing client experiences. Jessica Tan, Executive Vice-President and President of Sun Life Canada, said, "Strong financial advice starts with understanding what matters most to each Client. The best advisor relationships are built through conversations, trust and a deep understanding of a Client's goals, not paperwork. By helping advisors spend less time on administrative work, we're enabling them to focus on the relationships that matter most." Notes Assistant is recognized for its practical use of generative AI in the advisor workflow. It can securely summarize client meetings, compile action items and draft follow-up emails. According to Sun Life's announcement, this tool saves advisors between 15-30 minutes per client session. Building on this momentum, the company launched an AI-powered advisor concierge last month that has already been used in over 11,000 client conversations. Laura Money, Executive Vice-President and Chief Information and Technology Innovation Officer at Sun Life, said, "At Sun Life, we see AI as an opportunity to make our people more effective, strengthening the experiences we deliver while keeping trust, accountability and human judgment at the centre. Notes Assistant is one example of that approach... as we continue to scale AI across Sun Life we're doing so responsibly with strong governance, privacy and security built in from the beginning." The third consecutive CIO Award Canada win highlights Sun Life's ongoing efforts in scaling responsible AI solutions across its business operations worldwide including Canada; United States; United Kingdom; Ireland; Hong Kong; Philippines; Japan; Indonesia; India; China; Australia; Singapore; Vietnam; Malaysia and Bermuda. According to the official website, Sun Life Financial supports sustainability through responsible investing initiatives promoting healthier communities while focusing on lifelong financial security for clients globally under president Kevin Strain.
