Responsibilities
Stock retail items, crayons, and menus at the host stand.
Greet and say goodbye to every guest.
Help guests navigate the different areas of the pub.
Manage the waitlist and quote accurate wait times.
Communicate table availability to servers and the support team.
Discuss and sell retail items and packaged beer.
Take to-go orders by phone and in person, and quote accurate wait times.
Answer phone calls professionally.
Keep the pub clean by spot-sweeping floors, dusting railings, and cleaning windows.
Pre-bus tables as guests finish plates and drinks.
Communicate orders to the server when asked.
Bus tables completely when guests leave, wipe them down, and sweep when necessary.
Support the host and food runner.
Assist in all areas of the pub, including the bar, dining area, and entry.
Keep the server line stocked with ketchup, water, ice, and rolled silverware.
Follow the expo’s directions and take the correct food to the correct table and seat position.
Help expedite food when the expo is off the line.
Help the busser in the dining room when no food is coming up.
Communicate 86s to front-of-house staff.

Position Overview
Karbach Brewing Company is looking for a dynamic and hospitality-driven Host to join the team at Karbach Restaurant & Patio.
As a member of the support staff, you are the face of our Pub! Often times you will be the first person the guest meets when they walk in and the last one they talk to on the way out.
As the main person at the host stand you are responsible for greeting guests and finding how to best guide them through the Pub. You should be able to speak confidently about all our in-house and-to-go options as well as all retail items. In addition to helping guests, you are also expected to provide support for servers and bartenders including: running food & drinks, and bussing tables.
The support staff is one team and every member must be able to work together to ensure a successful shift.
Duties:
Host:

Communicate with servers and support team about table availability
Talk about and sell retail and packaged beer

Answer all phone calls professionally
Busser:
Keep pub clean: spot sweep floor, dust railing, clean windows
Pre-bus tables as guests finish pates/drinks
Communicate orders to the server when asked
Completely bus tables when guests leave and wipe it down (sweep when necessary)

Runner:
