PayPay India is the first overseas development center for PayPay, focused on building and improving e-payment services for the Japanese market. It integrates with the Tokyo product team to develop core features such as payments, credit and loans, investments, and integrations for online shopping and bill payments, powered by backend systems, data science, and AI-driven fintech features. It stands out by being tightly aligned with PayPay’s core development ecosystem through a dual-shore model that blends Indian IT talent with the Japan-based team, not as an outsourcing shop. Its goal is to speed up PayPay’s product development, expand cashless payments in Japan, and strengthen the overall technology foundation of the PayPay ecosystem.
