Requirements
  • Ability to independently inspect, repair, and assemble components and equipment and accurately complete required documentation.
  • Significant experience with the proper and safe use of common power and hand tools for assembly.
  • Ability to properly and safely use torches, other heat sources, and liquid nitrogen in the assembly process.
  • Ability to work efficiently within fixed time windows for manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to understand work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Must own a set of personal SAE hand tools, measurement instruments, and a roll-around toolbox.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, shop drawings, assembly checklists, and written work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, including understanding of the Microsoft Office package.
  • Electrical wiring experience or mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds with a full range of hand and upper-body motion.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing work environment.
  • Compliance with all Flowserve policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Follow pre-job briefs, Return Goods Policies, and checklists before disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and assembly.
  • Take pictures of disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and assembly processes as instructed by the applicable checklists.
  • Clean components for reuse and document their wear and condition on disassembly and inspection documentation.
  • Interface with service coordinators, production planners, and customers regarding the condition of critical components when applicable.
  • Follow routers and assembly procedures.
  • Inspect components for critical fits and run-outs and document each measurement on the appropriate assembly form.
  • Run the balance machine to properly balance rotating components and assemblies.
  • Conduct low-pressure air tests and high-pressure hydrostatic tests.
  • Inspect and verify the quality of finished and in-process work using precision measurement tools.
  • Set up and read micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other gauges.
  • Communicate job issues to peers and supervisors.
  • Coordinate and interface with sales, operations, engineers, and customers as necessary.
  • Paint, tag, and prepare equipment for shipment to customers.
  • Use cranes, lifting devices, and fork trucks.
  • Provide input on work-process improvements and help develop new tools and hardware for Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Work safely, help colleagues work safely, and use Stop Work Authority when appropriate.
  • Ensure forms and documentation are complete before quotation submission.

The flow control equipment manufacturer posted mixed results, with full-year earnings per share guidance beating expectations but next-quarter revenue guidance missing significantly. Despite this, Flowserve shares rose 12.7% following the report and currently trade at $78.80. The gas and liquid handling sector showed strong Q2 performance overall. The 11 tracked companies in this segment beat consensus revenue estimates by 2.1% on average, though next quarter's guidance came in 0.8% below expectations. Share prices across the sector have risen 3.4% on average since results were announced.

Flowserve (FLS) cuts full-year growth outlook amid ~1% organic sales decline

Flowserve Corporation trimmed its full-year growth outlook following a decline in organic sales of approximately 1%. The industrial pump and valve supplier faced activist investor pressure questioning management execution. According to Voya Investment Management's second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Flowserve accounted for 1.38% of its Dynamic Small Cap Fund portfolio but detracted from performance during the quarter. The fund's machine learning models had initially taken a positive view of the company's valuation and short interest features. As of 14 August 2026, Flowserve shares closed at $80.87, giving the company a market capitalisation of $10.28 billion. Despite the quarterly setback, the stock gained 51.95% over the previous 52 weeks. At the end of the first quarter, 48 hedge funds held positions in Flowserve, down from 51 the previous quarter.

Flowserve Corporation announced on August 5th that its Board of Directors has elected Ajay Agrawal as a member of the Board of Directors, and appointed him to serve on the Organization and Compensation Committee and Technology, Innovation and Risk Committee, effective August 5, 2026.
