Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent education.
  • Basic knowledge of general business practices and retail sales practices and procedures, typically acquired through one to two years of similar experience.
  • Previous customer experience is required.
  • The employee must be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
  • The employee must routinely stand, walk, sit, kneel, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. The role requires close, depth, color, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist PGA TOUR players, Members, and Guests with their golfing needs to help ensure their golf experience at the club runs smoothly and is enjoyable.
  • Greet and welcome Members and Guests professionally and courteously.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Members, Guests, and fellow staff members.
  • Answer questions and provide assistance and information to Members and Guests.
  • Answer telephones to schedule future starting times and communicate information pleasantly and professionally.
  • Accurately record reservation times and dates in the online reservation system, update the system when reservations are filled or canceled, and email or telephone Members and Guests to verify advance reservations.
  • Advise Guests of abnormal golf course conditions, including overseeding and aerification.
  • Communicate with local hotels and resorts about golf course conditions.
  • Accurately open, operate, and close the point-of-sale system according to the Club Operations Manual.
  • Handle and count cash, make accurate change, and record credit cards, gift certificates, and Member charges according to standard operating procedures.
  • Collect green fees, car fees, and other income.
  • Assist with physical inventories as required.
  • Assist with daily cleaning of the Golf Shop, storage areas, and merchandise displays.
  • Maintain displays at par stock inventory levels and ensure their appearance meets or exceeds company standards.
  • Communicate product information professionally, sell merchandise, learn products and sales techniques, anticipate Member and Guest needs, and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives.
  • Assist with Golf Shop closing procedures.
  • Use radio communications to communicate current information accurately and effectively to areas of the golf course, including the Caddie master, outside operations, and maintenance.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Work shifts as necessary based on business levels.
