Report significant client changes to the agency office.
Responsibilities
Provide care to clients who need help staying or gaining independence in their own homes, including older adults and clients of all ages with intellectual or physical disabilities.
Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry as needed.
Prepare meals and cook.
Shop for groceries with or for the client.
Provide transportation and run errands.
Assist with personal care and bathing.
Provide companionship.
Accompany clients to community places and support socialization.
Engage clients in activities such as games and memory books.
Support client goals related to social and behavioral functioning, coping skills, self-advocacy, confidence-building, relationship-building, and safe boundaries through coaching, discussion, role-play, and teaching.

This job requires caring for others who need help staying or gaining independence AT THEIR OWN HOME including the elderly or clients with intellectual or physical disabilities of all ages.
In Home Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) Essential Job Functions (differ based on client needs):
· Housekeeping/Cleaning & laundry
· Meal preparation & cooking
· Grocery shopping for or with the client
· Transportation & errands
· Personal cares and bathing
· Companionship
· Visit places in the community/socialize
· Engage in activities (games, memory books)
· Assist with goals such as, but not limited to social and behavior functioning, coping skills, self-advocacy, confidence building, relationship building, safe boundaries, etc. by Coaching, discussing, roleplaying, teaching etc.
