About the job
- Mandatory experience with Cognos 10.2.
- Strong software development or engineering experience, including 3 years as a senior consultant or team lead.
- Experience installing Cognos application servers in both 32-bit and 64-bit environments.
- Experience installing and configuring Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, Metric Studio, Cognos ReportNet, and Cognos Transformer.
- Experience patching, upgrading, and migrating Cognos application servers.
- Ability to maintain the integrity, security, performance, and availability of Cognos environments.
- Experience installing and configuring high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions at the application-server layer.
- Experience installing, upgrading, patching, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering third-party vendor tools.
- Experience performing database and software life-cycle activities to maintain system performance, availability, and compliance with business requirements.
- Experience monitoring application servers against established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.
- Ability to provide capacity-analysis reports and recommendations for improvements.
- Experience with application-server backup and recovery, performance analysis and tuning, and monitoring.
- Advanced shell scripting for databases involving Oracle and SQL Server.
- Experience with installation and security implementation, configuration and maintenance, patching, cloning, troubleshooting application errors and issues, application and SQL tuning, and advanced troubleshooting for Cognos tools.
- Availability for after-hours, on-call, and weekend maintenance support.
- Communicate and coordinate with clients on technical aspects.
- Troubleshoot complex project issues.
- Own application design, development, testing, and support activities.
- Establish and publish clear priorities among project activities for the team.
- Attend project meetings and work with other groups and departments.
- Drive team-building and onboarding efforts through mentoring.
- Strengthen client confidence in Saama and its ability to deliver.
- Provide scalable solutions for large data volumes and complex reporting.
- Lead the work of others or provide guidance to entry-level roles when needed.
