Requirements
  • Experience reading blueprints; a test will be administered during the interview.
  • Quality management experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work with traditional quality tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to respond to common customer inquiries.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise Quality Assurance Inspectors and work with production to meet deadlines.
  • Handle customer returns and perform other duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Serve as the second in command within the Quality organization, providing leadership and support for Quality Systems, inspection of finished goods, the New Product Development Launch Process, and on-time delivery and safety.
  • Create, revise, and remove Standard Operating Procedures as the Standard Operating Procedure Administrator.
  • Investigate and determine root causes of out-of-specification products and customer complaints, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with the audit team and vendors to implement corrective actions; maintain historical records of customer complaints and corrective actions; and report findings to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Supervise Quality Assurance Inspectors to ensure products are tested using the appropriate analytical method and report issues accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate outside analytical laboratory activities, including providing samples, defining tests, reviewing laboratory reports, and communicating pass/fail results against acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain consistent manufacturing quality standards to meet customer needs.
  • Manage performance for the Quality Department.
  • Use flow charts, check sheets, cause-and-effect diagrams, graphs, and control charts to validate and analyze quality data for recommendations.
  • Provide feedback to manufacturing personnel based on customer comments, internal and external measurement status, and audit results.
