  • A master's degree in business or a health care related field with 3 years of previous work experience in healthcare management, or a bachelor's degree in business or a health care related field with 4 years of experience in healthcare management.
  • Alternatively, 5 years of previous work experience in healthcare management may substitute for the degree.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Oklahoma, or a current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact member state, may substitute for healthcare management experience or a degree.
  • Ability to manage operational, financial, quality, and regulatory compliance for a medical group practice of five or more providers.
  • Ability to manage directly and indirectly up to 25 or more employees.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the operational, financial, quality, and regulatory compliance for a medical group practice of five or more providers.
  • Develop the annual clinic budget for all cost centers associated with the clinic and ensure efficient, accurate, prudent fiscal management.
  • Develop and adhere to the annual budget for the group practice and manage its finances efficiently, accurately, and prudently.
  • Compile data, analyze it, and make recommendations to increase group-practice profitability.
  • Educate staff on new processes, systems, and organizational guidelines as needed.
  • Initiate positions to start the recruitment process, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions for the clinic.
  • Evaluate employee work performance and determine merit increases.
  • Coach employees and handle corrective action when warranted, according to policy.
  • Handle front-line concerns regarding patient accounts from all sources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain accurate charges, coding, or other information needed to resolve accounts.
  • Review and approve bad-debt write-offs and the transfer of patient accounts to third-party collection agencies.
  • Administer employee work schedules to assure customer satisfaction and meet clinic financial goals.
  • Manage up to 25 or more employees directly and indirectly.
  • Schedule and manage clinical student internships and rotations.
  • Mentor and train new Clinic Business Managers on operational concerns.
  • Work with the site Medical Director or physician to resolve provider-related issues.
  • Work with the finance department to develop physician financial reports.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and record minutes.
  • Solicit quality and process-improvement suggestions to improve patient care and satisfaction.
  • Handle employment issues according to policy, procedure, and employment-law standards.
  • Meet with Medical Directors and physicians to inform them of financial and operational issues.
  • Ensure clinical compliance with Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments requirements.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate to the required level of patient contact.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and Joint Commission requirements when clinics are licensed under a hospital facility.
