Requirements
Must be a licensed attorney and a member of the New Jersey Bar.
Must have 1–3 years of experience, ideally in criminal defense or high-stakes litigation.
Must be proficient in both English and Spanish.
Must demonstrate alignment with immigrant rights and social justice.
Must proactively learn immigration law, bond representation, and removal defense strategies.
Must be based in New Jersey and have a reliable vehicle to appear in person for court and Immigration and Customs Enforcement presentations in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in Master Calendar, Bond, and Individual Hearings.
Develop defense strategies involving Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, and Adjustment of Status.
Work with paralegals and case managers to build cases.
Participate in Consultation Day events to evaluate case eligibility and explain legal options.
Review immigration court packages and humanitarian visa applications, including Violence Against Women Act, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, U, and T Visas, to ensure they meet firm and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services standards.

What You’ll Need
Legal Credentials: Must be a licensed attorney and a member of the New Jersey Bar.

What You’ll Do
Master a New Field: Transition your trial skills to represent clients in Master Calendar, Bond, and Individual Hearings.
Strategize: Develop innovative defense strategies, including Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, and Adjustment of Status.
Collaborate: Work with a dedicated team of paralegals and case managers to build ironclad cases.
Participate in "Consultation Day" events to evaluate case eligibility and explain legal options.
Review immigration court packages and humanitarian visa applications (VAWA, SIJS, U, and T Visas) to ensure they meet firm and USCIS standards.
