Requirements
  • Certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, or registration as a Registered Technologist (RT(N)) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or eligibility for certification or registration.
  • Graduation from an ARRT- or NMTCB-recognized Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • At least two years of modality-specific experience.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required through the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Heart Association-recognized equivalent, or through the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers.
  • The role requires competency in advanced modality skill sets and flexibility to rotate.
  • The employee must proactively maintain and renew ARRT credentials, state licensure, Basic Life Support certification, PPD, respirator fit testing, and point-of-care training.
Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Place intravenous lines while avoiding radiopharmaceutical extravasations.
  • Perform computer processing and image enhancement.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to physicians for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Provide patient care and customer service.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred.
  • One or two years of experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
