Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of export, import, or foreign-to-foreign documentation, regulations, and processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, clients, and other departments within the company.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Ability to successfully process a high volume of shipments per week.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • An Associate's Degree or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience with a Customs House Broker, freight forwarder, or non-vessel-operating common carrier.
Responsibilities
  • Manage import, export, and foreign-to-foreign accounts necessary for the basic operation of the branch.
  • Coordinate all assigned accounts.
  • Follow up with clients and agents regarding shipment status, processes, and required documentation.
  • Process invoices into the computerized accounting system.
  • Research vendor statements, phone calls, and discrepancies.
  • Ensure all documents are prepared in a timely manner for shipments to sail on time and without issues.
  • Ensure shipment documentation is accurate and complies with all industry, federal, and international regulations.
  • Prepare reports as requested.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others regarding account issues and resolve them.
  • Perform other account duties as requested.
