Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Certified in American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support.
- Two years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Ability to work scheduled shifts from 0700 to 1930 including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities and the distribution of work within the assigned area during scheduled shifts as a Charge Nurse.
- Act as a professional educator and resource for new employees by demonstrating clinical expertise and competence in the role of a Preceptor Nurse.
- Dedicate approximately 80 percent of time to direct patient care activities and 20 percent to Charge and Preceptor duties.
- Provide care and services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
- Set clinical and operational priorities based on patient acuity and volume during eight to twelve hour shifts.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Two years of recent experience in a current clinical specialty such as critical care, surgical services, diabetes education, or radiology.
- Additional Life Support credentials such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
- Clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
- Visual color acuity depending on the requirements of specific units.
