- Travel to other company locations, support the hiring of plant staff, and participate in facility design and construction during the greenfield plant startup, training, and commissioning phases.

GAF receives 2026 FORTIFIED Pioneer Award from IBHS. GAF has been recognized by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) with a 2026 FORTIFIED Pioneer Award for its leadership in expanding access to resilient roofing. The recognition was announced during the 11th Annual FORTIFIED Awards, which celebrate organizations and professionals advancing disaster-resistant construction. The Pioneer Award highlights GAF's commitment to increasing industry education around resilient roofing practices and its first-of-its-kind alliance with IBHS. Through the collaboration, GAF has helped train over 1,100 roofing professionals across more than 600 companies nationwide. In 2025, approximately one-third of newly designated FORTIFIED homes were built using GAF shingles, reflecting the growing role GAF-trained contractors and products play in advancing resilient construction. "GAF's commitment to growing the network of qualified FORTIFIED roofing professionals has played an important role in making resilient construction more accessible to homeowners," said Fred Malik, Managing Director of the FORTIFIED Program at IBHS. "By investing in contractor education and training, GAF is helping strengthen communities and advance the adoption of roofing practices that have been proven to improve home resilience." Through GAF's Center for the Advancement of Roofing Excellence (CARE) program, GAF delivers specialized training to help GAF Master Elite contractors meet the requirements to become FORTIFIED Certified Roofing Contractors. This equips contractors with the skills to install roofing systems designed to meet IBHS's beyond-code standards for resilience to help homeowners achieve greater protection against severe weather. Three organizations unite to give Baltimore mother more than a new roof. Jul 28, 2026 Green The Church, GAF, and Charm City Roofing partner to transform one family's home into a place of stability, sustainability, and community empowerment. BALTIMORE, Md. - July 7, 2026 - A simple request for help led to a powerful example of how purpose-driven organizations can come together to invest in people. Through a partnership between Green The Church, GAF, North America's largest roofing manufacturer, and Baltimore-based Charm City Roofing, local resident Ruby Taylor has received a new roof that represents far more than a home improvement. The project provides the stability she needs to rebuild her life while creating a foundation for a home that will serve as a gathering place for education, community, and generational wealth building. For Taylor, the roof symbolizes a new beginning. After facing significant personal and financial challenges while rebuilding her life as a single mother, Taylor wrote directly to the CEO of GAF and turned the company's own promise back on them. "You say you protect what matters most," she wrote. "My daughter and I are what matters most. Protect us." Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County - June 1, 2026 A lifelong Huger home and a homeowner's story. Ms. Bertha is a lifelong resident of Huger who has called her home her own for more than 45 years. Growing up in the community she still lives in today, her home has been a place of stability, memories, and deep personal meaning. LITTLE SILVER, N.J., May 18, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - Heritage Builders LLC has filed a lawsuit against GAF Materials Corporation and related entities alleging anti-competitive pricing practices, improper use of contractor certification systems, and contractor retaliation within the roofing industry. The lawsuit, Heritage Builders LLC v. GAF Materials Corporation et al., Case No. MRS-L-000595-26, was filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Morris County. According to the publicly filed complaint, Heritage Builders alleges that GAF used its market position and contractor certification programs, including its Master Elite contractor designation, in a manner that influenced contractor pricing practices and competitive positioning within the roofing marketplace. The complaint alleges that Heritage Builders maintained a business model focused on competitive pricing and transparency for consumers, but faced increasing pressure after refusing to raise prices to align with what the filing describes as elevated market pricing benchmarks. According to allegations contained in the complaint, GAF representatives allegedly monitored Heritage Builders' roofing estimates, compared pricing against competing contractors, and escalated actions when Heritage Builders continued offering lower and more competitive pricing to homeowners.
