  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant training program is required.
  • An active Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Office Assistant, or Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic medical record systems, is required.
  • Strong keyboarding and data entry skills are required.
  • Knowledge of common medical terminology, medical office procedures, and standard office equipment is required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, referral sources, staff, vendors, and the public is required.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information is required.
Responsibilities
  • Review electronic clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and required information.
  • Prepare, scan, and attach paper documents to the electronic medical record.
  • Process and distribute incoming faxes and medical documentation.
  • Maintain filing systems, reports, and documentation deadlines using time management and prioritization skills.
  • Process requests for health records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Update patient medical orders and medical test results in the electronic medical record.
  • Review active patient charts for compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Obtain required patient signatures and documentation.
  • Support front office staff and daily clinic operations as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient and organizational information.
  • Promote the organization's customer service standards in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
