Environmental, Health, Safety & Transportation Manager
Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety, & Transportation Manager for our Niagara Falls, Ontario team.
Thishighly motivated and customer focused individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programs and policies that ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment within fixed facilities and with Triumvirate’s field facing workforce.

This position reports to VP of Environmental, Health, & Safety. This role is onsite and is based in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 CAD.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement EHS&T strategies, policies and programs specifically tailored to operational processes and in alignment with company goals, regulatory requirements, and internal/external customer expectations.
- Collaborate with operational leadership and technical resources to develop site processing and permit capabilities from a risk management, safety and regulatory compliance perspective.
- Ensure environmental compliance approval (ECA) maintenance and compliance, including sampling, training and reporting.
- Primary point of contact for governmental agency inspections, including but not limited to the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks, Transport Canada, Environment Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Labor.
- Perform ongoing review of the applicable regulatory environment, including O. Reg 347 of EPA, TDGA and all Provincial & Federal regulations pertaining to labor law and human rights.
- Develop, implement and monitor environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance and prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Perform audits and inspections to review performance against company policies and programs, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead and direct the activities of the Company Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC).
- Promote and cultivate a strong safety culture, emphasizing proactive safety practices and employee engagement.
- Implement human and organizational performance (HOP) principles based on learning and improving.
- Conduct job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and ergonomic assessments for employees.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, CCOHS, and other relevant health and safety regulations within the operations.
- Lead incident investigation reviews, causal analysis, and implementation of system-wide corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Enforce policies and procedures related to driver safety and vehicle maintenance, including Hours of Service (HOS), vehicle inspections, driver licensing and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain and direct emergency response activities, plans and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze EHS&T metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar EHS role.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, health & safety standards and transportation safety regulations.
- Proven experience developing and implementing EHS&T programs and policies.
- Experience promoting safety culture and implementing human and organizational performance principles.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration and influencing abilities.
- Strong consulting and systems project management skills.
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including office settings and on-site inspections.
- This position requires occasional travel and flexibility to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours.

Preferred Requirements:
- Certifications such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or similar credentials are highly desirable.
