Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in medical device manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with laser processing is a plus.
  • The operator must be able to inspect products under a microscope.
  • The operator must be able to use micrometers, gage pins, calipers, and vision scopes.
  • The operator must have basic math and documentation skills.
  • The operator must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The operator must be able to interact with teams of operators, quality personnel, and engineering support.
  • The operator must be flexible and able to adapt to a changing, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
  • Operate the laser, including starting the machine and reloading material.
  • Post-process metal and plastic products by honing, removing cutouts, and cleaning.
  • Perform visual inspections and quality measurements of laser-processed medical devices.
  • Communicate product concerns promptly to help ensure products conform to performance and quality standards.
  • Follow established procedures and quality system practices required by the company or customer.
  • Work with the Laser Technician, quality assurance, and management teams to meet turnaround and shipment goals.
  • Use microscopes, micrometers, gage pins, calipers, and vision scopes to inspect products.
  • Assist in training other operators.
  • Package customer products for shipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
