Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operations and personnel of the accounting department.
  • Set up recurring touchpoints to meet with each accounting team member monthly or quarterly.
  • Participate in quarterly managers meetings.
  • Maintain and improve internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Establish cross-training within the accounting department so all roles and tasks have backup coverage.
  • Oversee accounting department processes and document procedures for electronic storage.
  • Ensure day-to-day accounting functions are carried out accurately and efficiently.
  • Meet the financial close deadline, currently a five-day close.
  • Calculate monthly service and construction sales commissions and prepare statements.
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries and reconcile various accounts.
  • Perform work-in-process reporting, related journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and manage fixed asset depreciation calculations and quarterly disposal determinations.
  • Track new vehicles and update leases.
  • Establish, document, and store inventory processes and procedures.
  • Reconcile inventory to the general ledger.
  • Coordinate the annual physical inventory count and rotating truck counts.
  • Review account reconciliations against budget.
  • Produce and provide monthly gross margin analysis reporting to leadership.
  • Attend project meetings twice a month.
  • Push estimated cost updates and track causes.
  • Push change order execution.
  • Push deposits for equipment.
  • Provide tracking of costs incurred versus cash collections.
  • Perform margin variance analysis.
  • Produce and distribute monthly project work-in-process drivers.
