What believers are saying

  • Japan MHLW approved IMCIVREE on August 24, 2026; launch follows by year-end.
  • Rhythm expects 5,000 to 8,000 Japanese acquired HO patients, supporting meaningful first-country sales.
  • Q2 2026 showed more than 400 U.S. patient start forms, validating physician demand.

What critics are saying

  • Kuehn Law opened a July 2026 shareholder probe into Rhythm governance and self-dealing.
  • IMCIVREE carries depression, suicidal ideation, and hypersensitivity warnings across every market.
  • Japan launch depends on final pricing; delay pushes revenue into 2027 and hurts hiring plans.

What makes Rhythm Japan unique

  • August 2026 Japan approval made IMCIVREE the first acquired HO therapy there.
  • Rhythm built a 50-person Japan launch team before approval, uncommon for rare-disease entrants.
  • IMCIVREE targets MC4R biology across BBS, POMC, LEPR, and acquired hypothalamic obesity.
