About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in editorial, journalism, or content strategy and management roles, including substantial experience in business-to-business technology.
  • Experience combining writing, story development, and hands-on production, including directing writers, freelancers, or agency resources.
  • Ability to perform editorial craft work such as selecting clips, writing headlines, packaging episodes, and shaping metadata or descriptions.
  • Experience running a busy editorial calendar across several formats and many stakeholders.
  • Sufficient knowledge of artificial intelligence, cloud, or data infrastructure to discuss inference and memory, and judgment to consult an expert when needed.
  • Daily practical use of artificial intelligence tools, including workflows built independently, and ability to distinguish a finished draft from one that is merely fluent.
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization and generative engine optimization, including how internal linking and content structure earn rankings and citations.
  • Experience partnering with designers, video producers, social and search leads, subject matter experts, and standards owners.
  • A strong editorial sense and published work, such as a newsletter, podcast, video series, or bylined work.

Responsibilities

  • Run programming and content production across WEKA’s owned channels, including the website, YouTube, LinkedIn, newsletters, the Deep Geeks podcast, and relevant online communities.
  • Grow audience and engagement and support campaign goals through the content published across owned channels.
  • Identify strong source material and adapt it across appropriate formats, such as articles, clips, newsletter features, and resource pages.
  • Plan programming with channel owners, including social and video leads, the web team, and the search and generative engine optimization specialist.
  • Ensure published work is accurate, meets brand and editorial standards, and makes technical material compelling without losing rigor.
  • Maintain the editorial calendar as the trusted source of truth for what is publishing, when it will publish, and who owns it.
  • Maintain a reliable publishing rhythm, meet deadlines, surface risks early, and refresh or retire aging work.
  • Improve content discoverability in search and generative engines, earn accurate citations from large language models, and organize content as a connected library.
  • Improve artificial-intelligence-enabled production workflows for the role, writers, and team, and provide feedback on the AI skills used to encode brand and editorial standards.
  • Track content performance, including velocity, freshness, engagement, organic and large-language-model-referred traffic, and citations; use evidence to expand successful approaches and discontinue ineffective ones.
  • Manage contract writers through clear briefs and candid feedback, recognize strong work, and thoughtfully expand the writer bench as production grows.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience publishing in Sanity or another headless content management system.
  • Producer experience in a newsroom, studio, publication, or branded media team where on-schedule delivery was central.
  • Experience making a federated but active content operation predictable.
